LEXINGTON, Ky. -

Ranked in the top 10 for the sixth consecutive week, the University of Kentucky men's tennis team will break from Southeastern Conference play Friday with a trip to No. 45 Miami. The match, scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. ET, marks the Wildcats' fifth straight against a top-50 opponent.

Following the contest, UK returns home to battle Auburn, Sunday at the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Complex beginning at 1 p.m. ET.

Kentucky (11-6, 2-2 SEC) is coming off a pair of losses last weekend, dropping a 4-3 decision at then-No. 9 Georgia and 6-1 affair at No. 2 Tennessee. Sophomores No. 10 Eric Quigley (Pewee Valley, Ky.) and No. 37 Alex Musialek (Dax, France) each took down ranked opponents during the weekend. Quigley defeated Georgia's then-No. 29 Javier Garrapiz while Musialek posted a victory over Tennessee's No. 32 Boris Conkic. The Frenchman also posted a victory over then-No. 105 Nate Schnugg of Georgia.

The Hurricanes (5-5, 0-3 Atlantic Coast Conference) will enter Friday's contest on a three-match losing streak. Miami suffered a 4-3 setback at then-No. 26 Georgia Tech on Sunday.

Last year, the Wildcats defeated the 45th-ranked Hurricanes in Miami, 5-2.

Miami is coached by former UK tennis player, Mario Rincon. Now in his sixth season at the helm, Rincon is a part of UK head coach Dennis Emery's ever-growing coaching tree. Rincon has guided the Hurricanes to four consecutive NCAA Tournaments, advancing to the round of 16 last year. Miami has one doubles team ranked in the most recent rankings, No. 53 Hector Nieto and Keith Crowley.

Auburn (4-7, 1-3 SEC) plays at North Carolina on Friday before visiting Lexington on Sunday. The Tigers have struggled as of late, losing four of their last five matches, with the lone win coming at South Carolina. Auburn boasts two ranked singles players in No. 23 Tim Puetz and No. 93 Alexander Stamchev. Puetz and Stamchev also make up an eighth-ranked doubles tandem for the Tigers.
