UK Men's Tennis Announces Summer Camp Dates and Details

March 3, 2015

LEXINGTON, Ky. - University of Kentucky men's tennis coaches Matt Emery and Cedric Kauffmann announced the dates and features of the 2015 Wildcat Tennis Summer Camps on Tuesday afternoon. The two coaches, who have dozens of years of experience as players and top-level coaches, will be leading morning, all-day and overnight camps in June and July.

"We are committed here at UK to provide campers with the best instruction possible," Emery said. "We will focus on basic fundamentals, technique, footwork and match play. All campers will be able to receive instruction from our returning world-class staff. We hope the Big Blue Nation is ready for a great summer of tennis camps, and we are looking forward to welcoming all of our participants to Lexington."

While in select camps, campers will learn and be able to execute over 12 important facets of the game, including the forehand, overheads, volleys, drop shots, backhands, serving and service returns.

The first camp will be the week of June 14-18, with the second week being July 12-16. Campers will have three options for both sets of camps.

The morning camp will be from 9 a.m.-Noon. The day camp will be the campers' second option, which will be from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Both the day camp and the morning camp are targeted towards 8-18 year olds.

Finally, campers are encouraged to attend the overnight camp, which is targeted towards 12-18 year olds. If campers are to stay overnight, they must be 12 years old. The overnight camp will provide all-day and overnight instruction and supervision as well as many other great perks.

UK Athletics will provide a certified athletic trainer on-site for all hours of the camp and all participants will receive a 2015 Nike camp T-shirt.
