Trevathan Named First-Team All-America

LEXINGTON, Ky. -  Kentucky linebacker Danny Trevathan has been named first-team All-America as honors continue to roll in for Wildcats such as wide receiver/quarterback Randall Cobb, offensive guard Larry Warford, tight end Jordan Aumiller and linebacker Qua Huzzie.

•    Trevathan, a junior from Leesburg, Fla., was chosen first-team All-America by CollegeFootballNews.com/Scout.com.  He leads the Southeastern Conference in tackles with 130 and is third in the SEC in tackles for loss with 16.

•    Cobb, a junior from Alcoa, Tenn., was picked second-team All-America by CollegeFootballNews.com/Scout.com.  Cobb caught 79 passes for 955 yards and seven touchdowns, rushed for 401 yards and five TDs, threw three touchdown passes and returned punts and kickoffs, including a punt return for a touchdown.  Earlier this week, he was named first-team All-America by The Associated Press and SportsIllustrated.com.

•    Warford (Richmond, Ky.) was named second-team sophomore All-America by CollegeFootballNews.com/Scout.com.  He led the team in knockdown blocks with 43 and allowed just one quarterback sack this season.  He helped the Wildcats rank in the nation's top 30 in total offense, scoring offense and fewest sacks allowed.

•    Aumiller, (Danville, Ky.) received fourth-team Freshman All-America recognition from Phil Steele's College Football.  Aumiller caught 18 passes this season for 193 yards, including a touchdown catch vs. Auburn.  He also was honorable-mention Freshman All-America from CollegeFootballNews.com/Scout.com.

•    Huzzie (LaGrange, Ga.) was picked fifth-team Freshman All-America by Phil Steele's College Football.  Huzzie was limited to seven games this season because of injuries, but still accumulated 16 tackles, including one for loss

Saturday, Sunday are Final Open Practices: With fall semester examinations complete, the Kentucky football team resumes practice Saturday and Sunday at the Nutter Field House.  These will be the final practices that will be open to the media and public.

The Wildcats will practice Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon.   Sunday's workout is slated from 2:40 to 4:35 p.m.  
Sideline Seats Available Through UK: Tickets are available to the BBVA Compass Bowl for both season-ticket holders and the general public.  Fans are encouraged to buy directly from the Kentucky ticket office, as all tickets from the UK allotment are sideline seats.  All tickets are $50 each.

o    Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 20-21, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
o    Wednesday, Dec. 22, 9 a.m. to noon

'Operation Win' to Benefit Birmingham: To implement the 'Operation Win' initiative in the community, Coach Joker Phillips and the Cats plan to sponsor children from elementary schools around Legion Field, as well as Birmingham-area military personnel.  Building off the GAMEDAY READY tour that traveled around Kentucky this past summer, the Wildcats hope to give back to the Birmingham community by providing game tickets sponsored by Wildcat fans and supporters.

Fans can participate by:
•    Making a 100% tax-deductible contribution to the Operation Win Birmingham Fund
•    Contributions can be made in $50 increments - the cost of one BBVA Compass Bowl ticket
•    Ticket blocks will be donated to local Birmingham elementary schools and military personnel
•    Help provide an opportunity for youth to experience Kentucky football
•    Fans can make contributions to the Operation Win Birmingham Fund in addition to purchasing their BBVA Compass Bowl tickets
•    Fans will receive three K Fund points for every $100 contribution
•    Fans will receive one K Fund point for a $50 contribution
•    The Operation Win drive will continue throughout December, as these tickets will be assigned separately from any priority ticket requests
