First Teams Battle in Kentucky Practice

Sept. 29, 2009

LEXINGTON, Ky. – With the goal of better adjusting to game-day speed, the Kentucky football first-team offensive and defensive units spent more time practicing against each other on Tuesday morning.

“We had a lot of ‘ones' vs. ‘ones,'” Coach Rich Brooks said. “We'll find out (if it went well) on Saturday.”

Three players were held out of practice Tuesday because of injuries, including offensive tackle Justin Jeffries (Achilles strain), cornerback Paul Warford (quadriceps strain) and linebacker William Johnson (sprained knee). In addition, linebacker Micah Johnson could not finish practice because of a turf toe injury.
