Wall, Cousins Finish Second and Third in NBA Rookie of the Year

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Former UK men's basketball All-Americans John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins continued their success in the NBA, finishing second and third in the NBA Rookie of the Year voting.

Wall finished second, behind Blake Griffin of the Los Angeles Clippers, with 295 points and Cousins finished third with 81 points. Players were awarded five points for each first-place vote, three points for each second-place vote and one point for each third-place vote.

Wall ranked second in the league in scoring among rookies, averaging 16.4 ppg, while leading the rookies and ranking eighth overall in assists with 8.3 per game.

Cousins ranked third among rookies in scoring, averaging 14.1 ppg. He pulled down 8.6 rebounds per game, second most among rookies and 24th overall.
