Wildcats Receive More Honors

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The postseason awards continue to roll in for the Wildcats, as UK received more honors from various national entities.
UK freshman John Wall has been named U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) District IV Player of the Year as announced by the organization on Tuesday.
Wall, a 6-4 guard from Raleigh, N.C., is UK's all-time leading freshman scorer and assist leader. He leads the Southeastern Conference and ranks fifth nationally in assists (6.2). He is also fifth in the league in scoring (16.8).
Cousins has set all-time records for Wildcat freshmen in double-doubles with 18, and rebounds with 312, while averaging 10.0 boards a game, second best in the SEC. His 18 double-doubles is the most in the league this season and the most by a Wildcat since the 1973 season.
Patterson leads the SEC and ranks eighth nationally in field goal percentage (.584). He has recorded nine double-doubles this season, fourth most in the SEC. He currently ranks 16 th on Kentucky's all-time scoring list (1,482) and is sixth on Kentucky's career double-double list with 30.
Calipari has led the Wildcats to a 29-2 record, the most regular season wins in the school's illustrious history. For the third time in his career, Calipari's was the nation's last undefeated team after getting the young Cats out to a 19-0 start.
USBWA's District IV is comprised of schools from Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and Florida.
