  • Kentucky drops to 5-2 on the season. North Carolina improves to 5-3.
  • UK is now 11-22 all-time against UNC and 2-5 in Chapel Hill.
  • The Wildcats are 123-62 against schools comprising the ACC.
  • This was the smallest margin of victory for either team in Chapel Hill over the last five games. The previous was 13 in 2005 (UNC 91, UK 78).
  • The last two games between UK and UNC have been decided by four points (Last season: UK 68, UNC 66).
  • Kentucky will be in action again Wednesday, Dec. 8, against Notre Dame in Freedom Hall as a part of the DirecTV SEC/Big East Invitational. Tip-off is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. ET with the game being televised on ESPN.

Team game notes

  • The Wildcats used the starting combination of Darius Miller, Terrence Jones, Brandon Knight, DeAndre Liggins and Josh Harrellson for the fifth straight game. Kentucky is 5-2 with that starting five.
  • Darius Miller scored the game's first basket on a 3-pointer.
  • Doron Lamb was the first sub off the bench for Kentucky. It was Lamb's sixth time this season to be the first Wildcat off the bench.
