Baseball on Friday Cancelled, Hosts No. 1 TAMU in Doubleheader Saturday
LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Due to consistent heavy rains, Kentucky's series opener vs. No. 1 Texas A&M has been cancelled on Friday and the two teams will now open and conclude the series with a doubleheader on Saturday, starting at 1 p.m. at Cliff Hagan Stadium. The two games will be seven-inning tilts, due to league travel policy.
Kentucky (18-11, 4-5 Southeastern Conference) and Texas A&M (28-2, 7-2 SEC) will be limited to the two-game series on the fourth league weekend of 2015. It will mark UK's first two-game SEC weekend series since 2005 and just the fifth in the 21st century.
The opener of the doubleheader will be televised live on the SEC Network, with Tom Hart and Chris Burke voicing the action. The twinbill will be broadcast in its entirety on the UK Radio Network, available in Lexington on Fox Sports Radio 1580-AM in Louisville on WKJK 1080-AM and online at UKathletics.com.
UK will turn to the two-man pitching staff of sophomore right-hander Zack Brown and junior righty Dustin Beggs for starts on the mound on Saturday in the doubleheader.
