UK Track & Field Pulls in Another Top-10 Signing Class
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky women's track and field team's 2014 signing class has been ranked as the nation's ninth best in the January issue of "Track and Field News."
The No. 9 ranking is UK’s second consecutive top-10 recruiting class, as rated by Track and Field News. UK’s 2013 signing class was ranked fifth.
Each of third-year head coach Edrick Floréal's first two full recruiting classes at UK have been ranked in the top 10 as he took over the program late in the summer of 2012.
Before coming to UK, Floréal had four top-five recruiting classes in six seasons at Stanford, including the top-ranked class in 2011, as rated by Track and Field News.
The full group of UK’s women’s signing class is made up of six state champions that combined to win 26 state titles in their time as prep athletes.
Additionally the class combined to post three top-10 prep times in the nation, broke two state records, had three high-school All-America selections and a U.S.-leading mark.
The “Where Are They Going Section” breaking down the 2014-15 collegiate recruiting classes can be found in the January edition of Track and Field News, which is on newsstands now. The rankings can be found here.
