Miller And Moss Shine For The Wildcat Swimmers

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The University of Kentucky swimming and diving teamscontinued its success on the second day of the Nike Cup Invitational on theUNC campus.

Kelley Miller had another outstanding day, finishing second in the finalsof the 200-yard freestyle. Miller met the NCAA "B" qualifying time standardwith a time of 1:50.28. In the same event, sophomore Tracy Sullivan placedfifth with a time of 1:52.18.

Senior Jennifer Clifford placed second in the 100 breaststroke with a timeof 1:05.03.

In the women's one-meter diving competition, freshman Kelli Frost placedfourth with a score of 375.35 followed by teammates Carrie Knoeber in fifthplace, Sarah Fields in sixth, and Michelle Glowatch in seventh.

The UK women's 200 medley relay comprised of Sarah Carter, Clifford, EmilyBuske, and Lisa Beavers finished fourth overall.

On the men's side, freshman Clayton Moss captured his second diving eventof the meet with a win on the three-meter event. Moss, a native ofMoultrie, Ga., finished with a score of 553.40.

Junior David Tweedie just missed a personal best time in the finals of the200 freestyle, finishing second in a time of 1:40.36.

The UK women's team currently is in third place going into the last day ofcompetition, while the UK men's team sits in sixth place.

The final day of the Nike Cup meet begins Saturday with preliminaries inthe morning and the finals in the evening.
