Rifle Faces TCU, Nebraska in Fort Worth

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Off to an unbeaten start to the season, the Kentucky rifle team will hit the road for its first road test of the season, facing TCU on Friday and Nebraska on Saturday in Fort Worth, Texas.

Kentucky (5-0) will hit the road for its first road matches of the season, facing TCU, the defending NCAA champion on Friday and Nebraska on Saturday in Fort Worth.

“We are excited about getting on the road for our first road trip,” UK head coach Harry Mullins said. “Training has been going well. On the bad side we have a little bit of illness going through the team, hopefully that won’t be too detrimental to the team. We are going down to perform well. We have been focusing on having solid performances day in and day out.  It will be a neat match, in the sense that TCU is the defending champs and they are preseason ranked No. 2 and we are No. 4. Both teams have put up some good numbers at home. I am excited to take this team down to Texas, I am disappointed too because we can only take so many people, just six people and we needed to do that travel wise so we can take everyone to other events in the future. Sad we have to leave some people behind. Overall, we are looking for some good performances. Nebraska and TCU are both good teams. Nebraska being a conference match is important. TCU is a well balanced, solid team from top to bottom.

“It will be an exciting trip and it will see what we are made of, in the sense of taking the show on the road and see what we can do in a different environment. More about competing against the course and performing at the same level we have been training at on the road.”
