LEXINGTON, Ky. – In preparation for the Kentucky women's golf team's return to the course in late January for the all-important spring season, will be featuring a profile on each of the Wildcats in the "Meet the Wildcats" series. The weekly series is an opportunity to get to know a little more about the 2015-16 Kentucky women's golf team.

The series continues this week with sophomore Isabelle Johansson.

Johansson is coming off a historic freshman season in which she became the first Wildcat to qualify for the NCAA Championships as an individual since Heather Kraus in 1998. Johansson didn't join the team until January but made an immediate impact at the NCAA South Bend Regional, where she tied for 10th place and got up and down for par in the final hole of a three-hole playoff to make the NCAA Championships.

As a sophomore this fall, Johansson led the team with a 75.6 scoring average and posted a team-high three top-50 finishes. She recorded a season-low 54-hole round of 223 at the Mercedes-Benz Championship.

In high school, Johannson was the 2014 Junior Masters Invitational, the 2014 Swedish Junior Championship and the 2014 Golf Upsala Open.

Meet Isabelle

She chose Kentucky because ... It is a great school, all the help I'm getting from CATS, advisers, etc. The golf program is playing great tournaments and UK challenges me to become better.

The best part about being a UK student-athlete is ... all the help we get with school and golf. It is a great support system.

Her favorite thing to do when she's not playing golf is ... cook food and hang out with friends.

The talent that she would most like to have is ... reading people's minds.

Her favorite movie is ... the Holiday.

The golfer she molds her game off of is ... Ian Poulter. Without him there's no Ryder Cup.

The most famous person she's ever met is ... Annika Sorenstam.

The first person she asked for an autograph from was ... Annika Sorenstam.

Her pre-tournament superstitions include ... a long warm-up to make sure I'm ready.

What's playing on her iPod right now is ... house music and acoustic music.

The concert she is dying to see is ... Justin Bieber. He should have a concert with his old music.

Her secret talent is ... cooking and baking.

Her most memorable moment as a golfer is ... winning the playoff at the South Bend Regionals in 2015.

The one TV show she never misses is ... 90210 -- the newer show.

The toughest course she's ever played is ... Concession at the 2015 NCAA Championships.

The one course she wants to play is ... Augusta National.

If she could play golf with a dream foursome, she would invite ... Justin Bieber(!), Bubba Watson and Hanna Eljansbo, a friend of mine who can hit the ball really well or it can go vice versa!

Kentucky returns to the course Jan. 31 vs. Louisville.

As always, fans can follow the team on TwitterFacebook and Instagram, as well as on the web at, for the latest Kentucky women’s golf information.
