Gymnastics Finalizes 2017 Schedule

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky gymnastics program announced its 2017 schedule on Tuesday, with an 11-meet slate including five home meets. In addition to the regular season schedule, the team will participate in its annual Blue/White meet on Dec. 10, 2016.

The team will kick off the new year with two road contests. UK will begin the year on the road at Eastern Michigan at 8:00 p.m. ET on Friday, Jan. 6. The squad will stay on the road and travel to Gainesville, Florida to face Florida in its first Southeastern Conference meet on Friday, Jan. 13.

Kentucky opens the home portion of the schedule with the annual Excite Night on Friday, Jan. 20 at 7 p.m. Excite Night will be televised live on SEC Network+. The squad stays at home the following week when national runner-up LSU visits Memorial Coliseum at 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 27. UK will then head on the road for a rare two-meet weekend when the team travels to Ball State on Sunday, Jan. 29 for a 1 p.m. meet.

Kentucky will remain on the road on Friday, Feb. 3 for a nationally televised matchup with Georgia. The Wildcats face the Bulldogs at 7 p.m. live on SEC Network. UK returns to the friendly confines of Memorial Coliseum on Friday, Feb. 10 to welcome Alabama at 7 p.m.

Following the clash with the Crimson Tide, UK will turn its attention to quad meets. Kentucky will head on the road for a quad-meet with Big Ten member Maryland, William & Mary and Pennsylvania on Sunday, Feb. 19 at 2:00 p.m. The Wildcats will return home and welcome Washington, Illinois and Northern Illinois on Friday, Feb. 24 at 7 p.m.

UK will wrap up the regular season with two SEC contests. Kentucky will face Arkansas for the last home contest on Friday, March 3 at 7 p.m. The Wildcats will end the season at Missouri on Friday, March 10 at Missouri.

The SEC Championships will be hosted on Saturday, March 18 at the Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida. NCAA Regionals are set for April 1 at various sites across the country, and the NCAA Championships will take place on April 15-16 in St. Louis, Missouri.
