Countdown to First Serve: Meet Darian Mack

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Sophomore outside hitter Darian Mack hails from Raleigh, N.C., and is the next Wildcat featured in the “Getting to Know Your Wildcats” series.

Mack was an All-SEC Academic team performer following her freshman campaign with the Blue and White. In her first season, Mack appeared in 17 matches recording 26 kills, seven blocks and a pair of aces. She logged eight kills on a .400 hitting clip in a win over Morehead State. She also notched a team-high four blocks in the win over the Eagles – all of which were career-highs. Mack had two digs and an ace to go along with a kill in her first collegiate appearance against Creighton last season.

Kentucky’s Memorial Coliseum will play host to the NCAA Regionals Dec. 11-12. UK is one of four sites selected for the Sweet 16 and Elite Eight matchups with one team advancing to the Final Four in Omaha, Neb., from the Lexington Region. This marks the third time in five seasons Memorial Coliseum will host this premier volleyball event.
