Countdown to First Serve: Meet Anni Thomasson

 LEXINGTON, Ky. – Junior Anni Thomasson is UK’s top returning kill leader and hails from Newark, Ohio.
 
Thomasson garnered AVCA All-America Honorable Mention accolades as a sophomore in addition to being tabbed to the All-SEC team. She is a two-time SEC Weekly Award winner and has twice been named to the All-SEC Academic team. She started all 33 matches during her sophomore campaign and finished with 334 kills, 30 aces, 317 digs and 386.5 points on the year. She led the team with 14 double-double efforts.

Kentucky’s Memorial Coliseum will play host to the NCAA Regionals Dec. 11-12. UK is one of four sites selected for the Sweet 16 and Elite Eight matchups with one team advancing to the Final Four in Omaha, Neb., from the Lexington Region. This marks the third time in five seasons Memorial Coliseum will host this premier volleyball event.
