AWENDAW, S.C. – Kentucky men’s golf plays the penultimate event of its regular season when the Wildcats tee it up in The Hootie at Bulls Bay, March 24-26.

UK will join a field of 15 teams at Bulls Bay Golf Club (par 72, 7349 yards), where the Cats will be competing in the tournament for the 19th consecutive time.

“We’re excited to be back competing again in South Carolina,” head coach Gator Todd said. “We’re getting towards the end of our regular season, and we need to step up and play some good golf. I’m challenging our guys to see opportunity, let it go and have fun this week.”

The 54-hole event spans three days with tee times off hole nos. 1 and 10 beginning at 9 a.m. on Sunday and Monday, and at 8 a.m. on Tuesday for the final round.

Kentucky enters after finishing in 10th place at last weekend’s Schenkel Invitational, posting a 54-hole team score of 859 (-5). It marked the team’s first event this season finishing in red figures.

Graduate student Alex Goff led the UK lineup, tying for seventh individually at 7-under par. Goff has a team-best 69.63 scoring average on the year and has placed inside the top-10 in six of seven events.

Junior transfer Jansen Preston is also coming off a strong performance in Georgia, where the Lexington native finished under par for the first time as a Wildcat. Preston’s 2-under total of 214 placed him in a tie for 30th individually.

Redshirt freshman Oakley Gee and senior captain Campbell Kremer will also make their fourth starts of the spring this week. Gee ranks third on the squad this spring with a scoring average of 73.3, while Kremer is right behind in fourth at 73.5. Gee has been a counting score for the Wildcats in seven of eight rounds this spring, while Kremer owns six counting scores, including three rounds of par-or-better.

Rounding out the UK lineup is freshman Michael Hake who will make his second start of the spring and the fifth of his young collegiate career. Hake took the course for the Cats at the Gators Invitational last month, finishing in a tie for 75th at 16-over par.

The 2024 Hootie at Bulls Bay field features five top-40 teams led by No. 16 East Tennessee State, No. 19 New Mexico, No. 33 Purdue, No. 35 Missouri and No. 37 LSU. Fans can follow tournament action with live scoring at Golfstat.com.
