On October 5, 2012 UK Athletics opened the new home for the track and field programs. The state-of-the-art training and competition venue, with an estimated cost of $13 million fully funded, gives the Wildcats one of the premier home tracks in the nation.
With grandstand seating for nearly 3,000 spectators, a video scoreboard to go along with a beautiful meet administration building, the UK track and field program boasts one of the finest homes in the country and the world.
The track is located on the UK campus adjacent to the Cliff Hagan Baseball Stadium. The facility is  outfitted with a world class nine-lane blue synthetic polyurethane track, two dual-directional runways for jumps, as well as ample room for throwing and jumping events. The facility also boasts a practice track runway to make it among the nation’s most innovative training sites.
The Outdoor Facility is built on the site of the former Shively Track, which stood on the UK campus beginning in 1959.
The track hosted the 2014 Southeastern Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships, its first premier meet
There are naming opportunities available throughout this facility. If you are interested in supporting this capital project through naming rights please contact the K Fund at (859) 257-6300 or email KFund@uky.edu.
