Men's Basketball, Women's Cross Country, Men's Golf Among Nation's Top 10 Percent in Their Sports
Mike, who is originally from Louisville, Kentucky, served as a Graduate Assistant at CATS from 2001-2003 for Men's Basketball, Baseball, Men's Golf, Women's Golf, and Volleyball. In 2005, he was named Academic Coordinator at Texas A&M University Corpus Christi in Corpus Christi, TX where he worked specifically with the Men's and Women's Basketball programs. Mike returned to CATS full-time in August 2009 as the academic advisor for the University of Kentucky's Men's and Women's Track and Field teams.
Mike completed his undergraduate degree in Kinesiology and Health Promotions with a minor in Business from the University of Kentucky in 2001. In 2003, he earned his Master's degree in Sports Management from the University of Kentucky.
As the track advisor, Mike serves as the liaison between student-athletes, coaches, and on-campus faculty and staff. He works closely with student-athletes to ensure they have all of the tools needed to be successful upon graduation from the University of Kentucky. He also assists with class scheduling, selection of tutors, monitors each student-athlete's academic progress and continuing eligibility, and compiles semester and year-end grade reports for the Associate Athletic Director for Student Services.
In addition to his advising duties, Mike collaborates with Rita Griffith, Tiffany Hayden, and Dustin Lewis in updating the CATS website and coordinates recruiting activities.
