Will Kindred is in his second year working in the UK media relations office and his second season working with the baseball program.

A native of Lexington, Ky., Kindred has a variety of responsibilities in the office, including serving as the primary communications contact for UK's nationally prominent rifle program and women's tennis team. In addition to his duties in the day-to-day management of the media relations office and its entire 22-sport intercollegiate athletics program, Kindred serves as a vital secondary contact for the baseball program.

In 2011-12, Kindred functioned as a secondary contact for the tradition-laden UK men's basketball program, as the Wildcats won the eighth NCAA Championship in the storied history of the program. Kindred traveled with the team throughout UK's NCAA and Southeastern Conference Tournament runs, working directly in the promotion and management of UK's coaches and student athletes, with a direct impact on its broadcast/telecast responsibilities and pre-game information supplements. He was actively involved in the promotion of freshman center Anthony Davis, who was the national player of the year, a member of the USA Olympic Team and the No. 1 overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft.

After completing the drama-laced run through the NCAA Tournament, Kindred transitioned to the 2012 UK baseball season, where he became a key element to the promotional efforts of the most decorated season in the 117-year history of the program. The Wildcats won a school-record 45 games, earned the first ever No. 1 national ranked in program history (three weeks) and tied their best finishes in the SEC and NCAA Tournaments in school annals. Kindred traveled with the program during its 16-day road trip to conclude the regular season and begin the SEC Tournament, also assisting during UK's NCAA Tournament trip to Gary, Ind., including the 21-inning marathon in the opening round.

Kindred transferred to Kentucky from South Carolina during the 2011 summer after spending his freshman year in Columbia, S.C. He is the son of Shelby and Mary Beth Kindred and has two sisters, Katie and Meredith.
