Mark Coyle is in his seventh year at the University of Kentucky and his second as the deputy director of athletics.

Coyle plays a prominent role in the day-to-day administration of Kentucky's 22-sport intercollegiate athletics department, assisting Athletics Director Mitch Barnhart with the direction of the department. Coyle also oversees the day-to-day responsibilities for men's basketball.

In his first five years at UK, Coyle served as the senior associate athletic director for external affairs, directing the marketing, fundraising, licensing and ticket units of the department.

Coyle joined the University of Kentucky from the University of Minnesota, where he served nearly four years in a number of external affairs capacities.

Coyle received his bachelor's degree in English from Drake University in 1991, where he was a three-year letter winner as a wide receiver. He earned his master's degree in teaching from Drake in 1992 and a master's degree in sports administration from Florida State University in 1993.

He resides in Lexington with his wife, Krystan, and their children, Grace, Nicholas and Benjamin.
