Go Big Blue Art Project

On September 20, a three-year old male bobcat was introduced as the new University of Kentucky live mascot during a joint press conference by officials from the UK Athletics Department and the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife. An online fan poll was conducted through UK's official athletics website, and you, the fans, chose the name 'Blue' for this new addition to the UK family.

Blue, who was donated to the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife by the Woods and Wetlands of Cadiz, KY will reside permanently on the Salato Wildlife Education Center three miles west of Frankfort on US60.

The University of Kentucky Athletics Department is honored to kickoff the exclusive Go Big Blue art project by artist/photographer John S. Hockensmith - represented by Equus Art International. Through the lens of Mr. Hockensmith's art he has captured the spirit and beauty of our official wildcat mascot. This art piece, which is endorsed by UK and the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife, is available to fans in a limited edition of 2,500 signed and numbered prints, an elite edition of 500 Giclee, and an open edition.
