Commonwealth Stadium Guide A-Z

Fans are encouraged to make an early entry to Commonwealth Stadium for the games. Long lines develop at some of the stadium gates just before the the games and fans can help ease that situation by entering earlier for the games.

No SmokingSmoking – the University of Kentucky campus is completely tobacco-free.  All members of the campus community, as well as visitors, will be asked to comply with this policy, which prohibits the use of all tobacco products on all campus grounds and parking areas (cigarettes, chew, pipes, cigars, snuff, etc.)  The policy applies to Commonwealth Stadium, which began operating as a smoke-free facility in 2008.

BAG POLICY

  • Each person is allowed one bag, not to exceed 13.5" by 10" by 7" in size and will be subject to a security check.
  • For security purposes, continuing in 2013, backpacks will not be permitted in Commonwealth Stadium.
  • Purses, small handbags, etc. will be permitted.
  • All bags are subject to search.

THE CAT WALK

Begins at approximately 1:45 p.m. at the corner of Jerry Claiborne Way and College Way in front of Nutter Field House, on the northeast corner of the stadium. The student-athletes will walk down the hill and enter the stadium at Gate 1. PDF Map of the Cat Walk Route

CODE OF CONDUCT

In order to keep Kentucky Football games as enjoyable as possible for all, the University of Kentucky asks that all patrons respect those around them. The University of Kentucky reserves the right to remove any individual from Commonwealth Stadium who displays conduct that may endanger or disrupt players, coaches, officials or other patrons. No refunds are given in such cases.

DISABLED GUEST SERVICES

  • A valid state issued hangtag or placard will be required to access free handicapped parking located in the Blue Lot outside Gate 12, Red Lot outside Gate 9 and Tobacco Research Center parking lot, accessible via Farm Rd, west of University Drive.  Once disabled parking lots are full, guests will be directed to the closest available parking lot.
  • Tobacco Research Center (Farm Rd.) handicapped shuttle will begin at 1:30pm, transporting guests to Commonwealth Stadium Gate 9.  Return shuttles begin at the end of the 3rd quarter and will operate until 30 minutes post-game.
  • Two 6-passenger golf carts will operate from Gate 9, transporting guests to requested gates outside the stadium.

GOLF CARTS

  • In the interest of safety for all guests, pedestrians, etc. continuing in 2013, guests’ golf cart use will be prohibited on the Commonwealth Stadium Complex to include all parking lots, sidewalks, streets, etc.
  • This includes motorized scooters, coolers, etc.
  • Guests are asked not to bring golf carts to the complex.

GUEST SERVICES

  • University of Kentucky Athletics strives to ensure a positive game day experience for all fans.  While inside Commonwealth Stadium, Guest Service Desks are available to assist you with questions or concerns you may have while attending a game.  They are located at the north lower concourse, west lower concourse, east lower concourse, and the north upper concourse
  • Guest Service locations inside Commonwealth Stadium provide:
    • Brochures containing maps, diagrams, and other important game day information
    • Assistance with location of seats, restrooms, ATM’s, and other areas of Commonwealth Stadium
    • Lost-child wristbands – parents may wristband their children and register contact information with guest services to facilitate a quick recovery of lost children, should the situation arise.
    • …and any other questions or concerns you may have regarding your game day experience.

LOST AND FOUND

During the game, items will be taken to Police Assistance between ramps 107 & 108 (fans can also drop off any items found here as well). Postgame, items can be claimed by calling the UK Police Department at 257-1616.

SECURITY CHECKS

For security reasons, all items are subject to search. Backpacks and large bags are prohibited. Guests may enter Commonwealth Stadium with one (1) small bag, no larger than 13.5" x 10" x 7". Bags must fit within sizing bins at all entrance gates. Arrive early and bring as few personal items as possible.

STROLLERS

Strollers may be brought into Commonwealth Stadium, provided they are a small collapsible style that can fit under a stadium seat/row without restricting ingress/egress.  Strollers are subject to search upon entering Commonwealth Stadium.

TAILGATING

  • Parking lots open at 8:00 AM on Saturday, April 26.
    • In order to accommodate the parking demand, please confine your tailgate to behind your vehicle and in one parking stall.  ONE SPACE-ONE VEHICLE.  Please keep all drive lanes clear for efficient vehicle ingress/egress.
    • In the interest of safety, fans' golf cart use is prohibited on the Commonwealth Stadium complex, to include all parking lots, sidewalks, streets, etc.  
    • Large industrial-sized cookers and portable generators must be approved by UK Athletics prior to game day. 
    • Cooper Drive will be closed to all vehicle parking/tailgating.
    • The Wildcat Refuge, located outside Gate 9 will open at 12:30p.m.
    • The CatWalk will take place at approximately 1:45p.m. (subject to change).
  • Golf Cart Policy
    • In the interest of safety for all guests, pedestrians, etc. beginning 2010, guests’ golf cart use will be prohibited on the Commonwealth Stadium Complex to include all parking lots, sidewalks, streets, etc.
    • This includes motorized scooters, coolers, etc.
    • Guests are asked not to bring golf carts to the complex.
  • Tailgate in back of your vehicle.
  • Large industrial-size cookers must be approved by UK Athletics prior to game day.
  • Portable generators must be approved by UK Athletics for use and must have a decibel rating of 60DB or less.
  • Open flames are not permitted without prior authorization from the University Fire Marshal's office. At least one (1) five pound all-purpose fire extinguisher (ABC) must be provided by the applicant.  Cooking is not permitted within tent without prior authorization of the University Fire Marshal.  Charcoal and other flammables must be properly extinguished and disposed of and cannot be placed in any dumpster or trash can
  • Banners and signage recognizing businesses may not be posted on Commonwealth Stadium property unless approved by UK Athletics.
  • Caterers must have proper parking permits to be admitted.
  • No parking on any green space between the Green, Red, and Blue lots.
  • Music should be confined to your tailgate area. Any use of live bands or a DJ must be approved by UK Athletics prior to game day.
  • Tents erected on green space may be no larger than 10'X 10', unless otherwise approved by UK Athletics
  • Tents may not be erected in parking spaces unless they too have a permit
  • Fans using a tent or canopy over the tailgate of a vehicle should keep the travel lanes open for vehicular traffic.
  • UK is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.  Do not leave valuables unattended. University Police officers are on patrol, but they are not responsible for your site.

TICKETS

  • All persons, regardless of age, must have a ticket to enter Commonwealth Stadium.
  • Tickets are free and available by calling the UK Athletics Ticket office (859.257.1818) Monday-Friday from 9:00am-4:00pm; on TicketMaster.com (small service fee) or on Saturday, April 26, via the ticketing tents located outside Gate 4 and Gate 12.
  • General Public Will Call will be available at ticketing tent outside Gates 6/7 beginning at 12:30pm on Saturday, April 26.
  • North, West and East Lower level tickets will be reserved seating
  • North Upper level tickets will be general admission seating
  • Pass outs/re-entry is not permitted as per SEC regulations
