Let the countdown begin.

On Wednesday, UK announced on Twitter that Big Blue Madness - the annual event that tips off the men's and women's basketball seasons - will be on Oct. 18. This year, it won't be the first practice of the fall because of the NCAA's extended practice schedule, but it will still be the same show fans have come to expect.

Those hoping to attend will be able to obtain tickets on Saturday, Oct. 5 at 7 a.m. ET at the Memorial Coliseum ticket windows or online at UKathletics.com or Ticketmaster.com. Fans wishing to pick up tickets in person can begin lining up at 7 a.m. ET on Wednesday, Oct. 2. Tickets will be free, but a small service fee will be applied to online tickets.

Additional information about Madness 2013 - including parking, broadcast and start times - will be announced at a later date.

Just wondering if there's a size restriction for the tents?

If I wished to purchase my tickets online, instead of camping (single dad w/ 2 daughters) what date would they be available for purchase??

how much are the tickets going to be

This will be my 13th year and we have been using an 8x10 tent. We were thinking of getting a new tent but wasn't sure of the restrictions ourselves. If you find out, please post! Cannot wait for this year! Go Big Blue!!

Hi, I am new to all this. What exactly are the rules for camping? Can you leave your tent at all for food, class, or etc? Thanks

How many people are allowed in each tent? I have a 6 person tent and wanted to make sure everyone who camped with me would be able to get a ticket. I will probably have 5 people in my tent.

I have a 6 person tent and was wondering if there is a limit to how many people can be at each tent. I will only have 5 people in my tent but I didn't want any of them to camp out and not get a ticket.

What all is aloud for campout. Cooler, blankets, food etc!

What is the ticket limit per person this year?

How many tickets will be giving away online? Will it be difficult to actually have a chance to get some? Trying to decide if I should camp, or if online is realistic. Thanks!

Would i have a good chance of getting tickets if i camped out for them or would it be waste of time for me to try.

What time is the distributed for the control cards on friday afternoon.

If I arrive at 5 am on Saturday, am I pretty much asssured of getting tickets? A better chance than online? And can a 16 year old get tickets?

How does the actual ticket distribution on Saturday work. Does our tent mark our spot in line? Or is it just whoever lines up first? Or something else

Will the Madness be shown on the Big Blue Network (Fox Sports South on Dish)?

I have a 2 year old, does he have to have a ticket to attend?
