Softball: The climb continues. The best ranking in school history has improved for a second straight week as Kentucky checks in at No. 15 in the latest ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25. The other major poll, the NFCA Division I Top 25 Poll, has lagged behind slightly each week, but the Cats jumped to No. 18 in this week's poll. Kentucky is No. 15 in the RPI.
Men's tennis: Following the second run to the Southeastern Conference Tournament finals in school history, UK has cracked the Intercollegiate Tennis Association top 10. The No. 10 ranking is the highest ranking of the season. Junior Eric Quigley, who was named Mr. Wildcat at Monday's CATSPY Awards, is tied at No. 6 in the individual rankings. Alex Musialek checked in at No. 55 and Alberto Gonzalez is No. 93. UK's doubles duo of Quigley and Brad Cox jumped all the way from 35th last week to 20th. The top-20 ranking should secure the duo for a trip to the NCAA Doubles Championships after the team championships. Since the top 16 teams in the ITA rankings generally host the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament, UK looks to be in pretty good shape to host for the third straight year.
