About the Nike HyperElite Uniforms
Eight universities will debut in 2010 the Nike Hyperelite basketball uniform.
The EliteFit system, a jersey/short layered over a padded base layer, is designed to address the games' increased physicality.
Aerographics relate team spirit and history in a breathable, lightweight graphical mesh innovation relevant to each school.
Aerographic technology
- Developed for the Beijing Olympics, engineered mesh provides zoned cooling
- Unnecessary fibers are removed, creating mesh that reduces up to half the yarn in jersey
- Comprehensive curation and school-specific design seamlessly integrated into lighter-weight garment
- Creates natural convection flow, drawing heat from back of the body
University Inspiration
- Checkered 'pattern of excellence' inspiration from racing silks worn by Secretariat - contains Wildcats national championship years.
- Roses symbolize Kentucky Derby
- Illustration represents Lexington campus's historical Memorial Hall.
- The wildcat school mascot is a design focal point
Material innovation
- Lightweight, quick-drying woven material of 6-ounce-short enables superior moisture management.

The uniforms are BAD TO THE BONE
That is not our wildcat. Don't know what that critter is. Nice to see the outline of the state in the protective place. It is Japanese tradition to embroider a symbol at the back of the neck to protect the wearer from evil spirits sneaking up on you. Is that a nod toward Toyota?

Nobody has a problem with that but me? Kentucky's uniforms shouldn't be basically the same as 7 other school's uniforms.
Kentucky uniforms were always unique and different and other schools copied UK.
Heck, if it's up to Nike maybe everyone will eventually have the same school colors and mascott if they can make money from it.

I hope these new usis have the players names on the back of the uniform. Actually I am not in love with them at all. I do like the state of Kentucky on the uniform though, but miss the names
The uniforms will have names on them. THe 120 inside the state is to represent the 12 counties in the commonwealth.
I loved the new uniforms they wore last night. When you have the classiest coach on the planet you are going to have the classiest players, so they will look like they play.......awesome!!!!!
Classy Uniforms for a classy team and hey cuz dont let em get to ya have a great remaining season you guys rock though i did have to stay up late and pull you to victory over Miss.State LOL
i don't really like this uniforms design , especially the graphic on the back of the jersey . Great style of the number .
