UK climbs to No. 2 in polls

Kentucky's climb to the top is nearly complete.

Following Kansas' loss to Tennessee on Sunday, Kentucky has moved up to No. 2 in both major polls this week. Texas took over the top spot for the first time this season and Kansas fell to No. 3.

It's the highest ranking for the men's basketball team since checking in at No. 2 in the Associated Press Top 25 in the final week of the 2003-04 season.

UK picked up nine of the 65 first-place votes in the AP poll and one of the 31 first-place votes in the ESPN/USA Today Poll.

Also, Joe Lunardi of ESPN revealed his latest edition of Bracketology. The Cats (of course) remained a No. 1 seed, this time in the East region against UC Santa Barbara or the winner of the Big West.

Inexplicably, the women's basketball team remained outside of the AP Top 25 this week despite a near upset of now-No. 6 Georgia and previously ranked Vanderbilt. The Cats picked up 35 receiving votes, good enough for 27th.

Coach

My brother was in a hunting accident 28 years ago this year. He spent several months at the UK hospital, he lost half of his brain and it's amazing that he is still alive. He was in a wheelchair for 10 years and worked himself out till he could walk. He walks with a limp but is able to take care of himself. While in the hospital some of the players would visit people and he is now the biggest wildcat fan there is. His ceiling is painted in blue and white strips his sink is blue everything he has is UK. He has about everything we are able to get him except one thing, a signed basketball, would you please let me know how i can obtain 2 signed basketballs one for him and one for my grandchild who this is his first UK season he will be 2 in april and already loves basketball.
But the ultimate thing would be a ball i can give to my brother. He's been through so much but don't feel pitty for him he says it's the best thing that ever happened to him cause he was starting to get on drugs and if he hadn't of got shot he probley would of died of and overdose. So if you could give me this information i would greatly be forever in your debt.

thank you for your time
