Mission Statement
The mission of the University of Kentucky Student-Athlete Advisory Committee
shall be consistent with the overall mission of the University of Kentucky
Athletics Department. The student-athletes must be the heart of the program.
We recognize that every student-athlete has goals that are fulfilled by personal
athletic success and personal academic success. There must be a balance that
ensures that the student-athlete is provided with the opportunity to obtain
these goals.
The mission of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is to assist in the
creation of an environment where all student-athletes have the opportunity
to maximize their academic, personal and social growth and improve their post-college
quality of life.
The University of Kentucky Student-Athlete Advisory Committee shall fulfill
this mission by:
- Improving communication between the UKAA and the student-athletes.
- Acting a liaison between the athletics administration and the student-athletes,
SAAC will provide student-athletes with a voice in the UKAA decision making
process.
- Improving the organization and by the involvement among student-athletes
in community and campus issues, as well as alert student-athletes to issues
concerning them.
- Serving as a liaison to the Southeastern Conference (SEC) and the National
Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).
