Compliance - Prospective Student-Athletes
We are excited that you are considering joining the great tradition of the University of Kentucky Athletics. To make your journey toward becoming a student-athlete here at UK as smooth and easy as possible, we want you to be aware of how the process for prospective student-athletes works.
The first step that you should take is at the end of your junior year; this is when you need to register with the NCAA Initial-Eligibility Clearinghouse. You can register online at The NCAA Eligibility Center. You will also want to make sure you are eligible to participate in college sports. From this site, you will be able to determine whether or not the classes you are taking will be applied toward your core requirements.
The next step is to apply to the University of Kentucky early in your senior year. You can apply online at UK Admissions or print an application out and fax or mail it to the University of Kentucky.
The final step in becoming a student-athlete here at the University of Kentucky is to sign the National Letter of Intent that is offered by the coach that is recruiting you. You may also want to seek additional financial aid. You can find out more information about financial aid online at UK Finances.
If you have any additional questions or concerns please feel free to contact the University of Kentucky Athletic Compliance Office at 859-257-8604.
